Pamela Parriott
Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Parriott is the Chief Executive Officer of Choice Schools Associates. Pam joined the Choice Schools Associates staff in January of 2004 as Director of Marketing and Operations. Since then, her passion for sound operational systems has positioned Choice Schools Associates for stability and a competitive edge in the educational management market.

Pam has spent her career leading organizations, working with governing boards, and serving those with whom she works. Formerly serving as Director of Oversight for Central Michigan University's Charter Schools Office, Pam brings a clear understanding of the charter school movement, the partners active in the movement, and the call for increased accountability.

Pam was named CEO in July of 2004, assuming full management responsibility for the company, including delivering on the company's vision for exemplary customer service. Ms. Parriott received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Michigan State University and her Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Central Michigan University.

Sidney L. Faucette, Ed.D.
President

Dr. Faucette created Choice Schools Associates, LLC in 1998 after 10 years as a Principal, 14 years as a public school superintendent, and two years as an educational consultant.

Sid Faucette received his bachelor's degree from High Point University and his master's and doctoral degrees in Educational Leadership and Policy Study from the University of Virginia. His list of publications include the Everyday Etiquette program created specifically for implementation in elementary classrooms, journal articles in such professional publications as American Educational Research Association, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, and ERS Spectrum. His doctoral dissertation titled School Board Chairmen and Superintendents' Perceptions toward Merit Pay in Virginia was also published and has received noteworthy attention from scholars and professionals in the field of Education. Ronald L. Wiens, LMSW, ACSW
Director of Educational Management Services

Ron Wiens joined the Choice Schools Associates team in April 2006, after being a manager, and a clinician, in the field of social work for over 30 years. He developed and directed the operations of a secure residential treatment center for serious female adolescent offenders for over 10 years. This intensive program provided intensive educational therapy allowing each delinquent to regain lost school credits and was the most successful of its kind in Michigan. Ron also directed a shelter for abused and neglected children, which also provided educational therapy for adolescents. Continuing his service in education, Ron directed Social Services for a large Head Start program for several years. In addition, Ron worked in the mental health arena, managing two private outpatient clinics, crisis intervention services, home based services, substance abuse prevention programs, and infant mental health programs. Ron has also worked as a private practice therapist for over 18 years.

Ron’s career has included being active in numerous community service organizations and he was President of a public school academy board. In addition to this volunteer service, Ron served as a Peer Reviewer and Team Leader for the Council on Accreditation, helping to improve the quality of human service organizations across the United States. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts in Social Service Administration from the University of Chicago. Ron is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers and has jointly published health services textbook chapters and journal articles.

Stan Rathbun
Director of Educational Management Services

Stan Rathbun came to Choice Schools Associates in July 2009 from Mt. Pleasant, MI after serving for five years as Executive Director of the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation. Previous to his role with the Community Foundation he had served the Mt. Pleasant community for eleven years in the role of Executive Director for United Way of Isabella County. Working with executive level boards and collaborating with community organizations through the United Way and Foundation grant making systems afforded him experience in bringing people together to address community needs. Included in this experience was working with public schools to develop school foundations and creating permanently endowed funds to benefit their educational programs.

Don Haist
Chief of Curriculum and Instruction

Don Haist joined Choice Schools Associates in July 2008 as an Education Consultant, and is now Chief of Curriculum and Instruction. Don has extensive experience in curriculum alignment, assessment, board governance, and use of data to drive instruction. This experience came from spending years as the superintendent for Greenville public schools, and before that being a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendant. At Choice Schools Associates, Don works with boards and staff members to develop skills needed for a culture of true learning. Don received his master's degree from Central Michigan University.

Scott Morgan
Curriculum and Instruction Director

Scott joined Choice Schools Associates team in Feb. 2007, bringing over 20 years of experience in education to the office. His knowledge and expertise spans from instructional best practices to discipline strategies and building collaborative teams. Scott works closely with teachers; individually and collectively to direct the instructional program toward student achievement.

Scott received his BS in Computer Science from Ferris State University. He went on to receive a graduate degree in Educational Leadership and Instructional Design from Central Michigan University.

Adam M. Holcomb, CPA
Director of School Finance

Adam has been part of the Choice Schools Associates team since May 2008.  Adam is a certified public accountant and serves as Director of School Finance. Adam oversees all financial activities including budget preparation, audit lead, grant management, reporting, and federal/state/authorizer liaison.

Prior to joining CSA, Adam worked as a tax accountant and auditor for a well-respected Lansing based CPA firm.  During that time he received vast experience in auditing school districts and tax preparation for non-profit entities and corporations.  Adam received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Central Michigan University.  He is currently a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jason Couture
Director of School Finance

Jason joined Choice Schools Associates in December 2011 as Director of School Finance.   Jason oversees all financial activities including budget preparation, audit lead, grant management, reporting, and federal/state/authorizer liaison.  

Prior to joining CSA, Jason worked as an auditor and accounting manager for a Taylor based CPA firm and more recently, worked for the City of Taylor as the Assistant Director of Budget and Finance.  He has over 11 years of experience in governmental auditing and accounting, including public school academies.  Jason earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Michigan –Dearborn in 2000. He is a member of the Michigan Government Financial Officers Association and is planning on obtaining his Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) certification thru the Association of Government Accountants.

Steven H. Scheel, CPA
Director of School Finance

Steve joined Choice Schools Associates in December 2011 as Director of School Finance. Steve oversees all financial activities including budget preparation, audit lead, grant management, reporting, and federal/state/authorizer liaison.

Prior to joining CSA, Steve worked as an accountant at a well-respected Rochester based CPA firm. During that time he received vast experience in auditing charter school academies and corporations as well as tax preparation for individuals, non-profit organizations and corporations. Steve earned his Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Michigan State University in 2002. He then received his Masters in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance from Walsh College in 2008 and completed his CPA licensing requirements in 2010. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Sarah K. Wildey
Director of Human Resources

Sarah joined Choice Schools Associates in 2001 as the Director of Human Resources. Sarah supervises human resources activities including the recruitment, evaluation and retention of highly qualified employees. Sarah manages the parent-teacher evaluation program, which directly involves parents in teacher evaluation and professional development planning. Additionally, Sarah ensures Choice Schools Associates compliance with all labor laws, and creates strategies to best position Choice Schools Associates for the future.

Sarah received her bachelor's degree in Psychology from the School of Education and Human Development at Brenau University and is a candidate for the Professional of Human Resources Certification through her membership in the Society for Human Resource.

Beth Quiney
Human Resources Coordinator

Beth joined Choice Schools Associates in 2008 as the Human Resources Coordinator. She previously worked at West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science as a bookkeeper. Beth assists the Human Resources Director with compliance reporting to the state, employee relations, performance management and improvement tracking systems. Beth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development from Central Michigan University.

Tonya Holcomb
Chief Communications Officer

Tonya began her role as Chief Communications Officer at Choice Schools Associates in October 2009. Tonya provides leadership to the marketing of Choice Schools Associates. She is responsible for ensuring effective communication and marketing planning for Choice Schools Associates’ managed schools. Prior to joining CSA, Tonya worked for a Grand Rapids based automotive group developing and maintaining their marketing campaigns. Tonya received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Ferris State University.

Maria Valladares
Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Maria joined Choice Schools Associates in May 2010 as the Marketing & Communications Assistant. Maria assists the Chief Communications Officer with all marketing plans. Before joining CSA, Maria worked as a Marketing Assistant for a baby furniture manufacturer where she assisted in all aspects of marketing, public relations and sales. Maria received her Bachelor of Science degree in Public Relations from Ferris State University.

Linda Sharpe
Executive Assistant

Linda joined Choice Schools Associates in May 2006 as Executive Assistant. Prior to joining Choice Schools Associates, Linda served 12 years as office manager for an oncologist and then five years as part of the team at Davenport University. Linda’s assistance and management skills are essential in helping schools and their boards meet compliance requirements for Authorizers and in providing daily assistance to Choice Schools’ CEO and President. Linda earned her bachelor's degree from Cornerstone University and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Calvin College.

Tammy Potratz
Coordinator of Payroll & Benefits

Tammy joined Choice Schools Associates in Aug. 2005. In this position, Tammy processes payroll, administers benefits including, health, dental, vision, 401k, section 125, workers compensation and compliance. Tammy received her degree from Lansing Community College in Corrections.

Ashley Greenwood
Receptionist and Human Resource Assistant

Ashley has welcomed guests, answered phones, coordinated the front office and assisted the marketing, finance and curriculum departments since she joined Choice Schools in 2006. Ashley also works with the Human Resources department to help ensure compliance with State and Authorizer regulations. Ashley received her degree in Liberal Arts and also a non-related Gerontology Certification at Grand Rapids Community College. She is glad to be part of the Choice Schools team.
